What does being an Osmosis Mastermind mean to you?

Shunay CdeVaca: A professional that embodies the core beliefs of Osmosis specializing in non-toxic, internal and external emotional wellness. A full body approach!  Highly skilled, committed, passionate, and willing to think outside of the box of traditional aesthetics practices.

Shunay CdeVaca: Thank you! We are so grateful for the opportunity to practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico and to have found our true passion in holistic aesthetics with Osmosis. It has been a rewarding journey over the past 22 years, evolving with the forever changing trends and upgrades in the laser aesthetics world. I am honored as a business owner to find a line that brought me back to my roots! We now have a dedicated team and satisfied clients receiving top-notch treatments with Osmosis 

Tell us, why did you become an Aesthetician?

Shunay CdeVaca: Working alongside a physician at one of the first medical aesthetics practices nearly 22 years ago sparked my passion for the techie aspect of results-driven treatments. After working with physicians for years, I felt that something was missing in my treatment approach. Discovering Osmosis and its holistic approach to skincare has been a game changer for me, allowing me to align my practice with a focus on overall skin health rather than trauma-induced treatments.

Please share a few highlights of your education and the people who have supported your journey.

Shunay CdeVaca: Some highlights of my education in aesthetics include attending the Hawaii Dermatology, Skin Disease, and Education Foundation seminar with Dr. Lopez and receiving training from Osmosis with Renee and Dr. Ben. These experiences have truly expanded my knowledge and passion for the field in two very different approaches. Along my journey, I have been supported by clients, fellow physicians, and aestheticians who have guided and inspired me through this journey.

And your wellness journey?

Shunay CdeVaca: My wellness journey has been completely transformed by a long decline in health caused by silicone and heavy metal toxicity from breast implants. This experience has led me to adopt a non-toxic holistic approach to wellness, prioritizing clean ingredients and natural practices. I explanted in 2019, Worked very hard on detoxing my body and am now a lot healthier thanks to these lifestyle changes.

Care to share about your own personal wellness protocol?

Shunay CdeVaca: I believe in prioritizing my internal wellness and processing emotions. I use products like Regenerate, Immune activator, Rescue MD, Catalyst MD, Stem Factor MD. I have swapped inducing trauma collagen for Osmosis treatments. Also removed any past filler I've had, focusing on not inducing inflammatory pathways.

Care to share a favorite client success story?

Shunay CdeVaca: The thing that stands out the most is gaining the confidence to know that there is a treatment path forward that can be without medication. One gentleman in particular recently was on six medications by a prestigious physician and his skin was a mess. He was in pain and it was itching and with Renée's guidance we changed his protocol to osmosis and blue light and he is so happy and is now a believer in a clean approach.

What is your favorite osmosis product?

Shunay CdeVaca: Hands down, TriFusion facial with RevitaPen Nothing like it on the market. 

How do you create such a high level of trust with your clients?

Shunay CdeVaca: I would say a core belief in ethics, precision and alignment. Sometimes, this means saying no to certain monetary opportunities or requests in order to prioritize the long-term benefit of my clients. By consistently demonstrating integrity, excellence, and putting their best interests first, I am able to foster strong relationships built on trust.

Do you have any advice for new Aestheticians?

Shunay CdeVaca: One valuable tip for new aestheticians in the industry is to figure out your core beliefs and values and use them as a guide in building your business. Find a niche in your craft, surround yourself with supportive people, build a community, and prioritize education. And most of all, have fun with it! 

What are you passionate about personally?

Shunay CdeVaca: When I think of happiness, I think of my two little Yep! dog mom. I love cozying up at home with a good book, a warm blanket, and a cup of coffee. 

What are you looking forward to in the future?

Shunay CdeVaca: Mentoring aesthetician Maybe creating some sort of community that supports aestheticians in general. Hey, you never knowpotentially pursuing a career in holistic education. Wink wink!

If you could give a facial infusion treatment to anyone past or present, who would it?

Shunay CdeVaca: I would choose to somebody that has never had the luxury or the means of having a facial before. The feeling of being cared for by pampering. We actually did this in my practice recently. She was in her 70s, never had a treatment before, she went home raving about how lovely it was. She passed shortly after, but I am grateful that we could give her that experience before she did. The power of touch and pampering can truly make a difference in someone's life, even if it is only for a brief moment.
