Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will lead the accounting department, including oversight of any contracted accounting or financial service providers. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building structure, optimizing processes, and driving financial insight to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Department Leadership: Oversee and manage the accounting department, including internal team members and any external or contracted accounting partners, ensuring efficient operations and alignment with company goals.
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting: Direct all accounting functions to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, forecasting, and liquidity planning to maintain financial health and operational stability.
  • Tax & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, and maintain accurate documentation for audits and filings
  • Profitability Analysis & Margin Review: Conduct detailed financial and operational analysis to identify trends, improve margins, and support profitability.
  • ROI Planning: Collaborate with leadership to evaluate and plan for key investments, projects, and initiatives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor performance against goals, and provide actionable insights.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full regulatory compliance.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills. NetSuite experience preferred. 
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial accounting, cost control, and financial reporting principles.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage internal and external accounting teams effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and collaborative abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational strength, and problem-solving skills.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • CPA certification required.
